Profile

Donald Fishman teaches courses in Communication Law, Crisis Communication, the History of Mass Communication, Public Relations, and Public Speaking/debate. He is a past recipient of the Haiman Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Freedom of Expression, the Phifer Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Parliamentary Procedure, and is a past winner of the O'Neill Award for the Top Paper in Freedom of Speech Commission at the National Communication Association (NCA) Convention. Fishman is past president of the Eastern Communication Association (ECA), and he is the former chair of the ECA's Task Force on the Status of Interest Groups.  Fishman's recent articles have been on libel law, crisis communication, parliamentary procedure, and the privacy on the Internet.Â
