Bring to Light Courses

The Bring to Light undergraduate elective courses consist of a series of one-credit undergraduate elective courses offering students the chance to become familiar with seminal texts and ideas. It gives students the opportunity to engage in academic conversation in a risk-free setting, to pursue the most important questions or fitting a full course into their schedule.

The Bring to Light courses offer a variety of one-credit courses, ranging from reading classic works in theology—from Augustine’s Confessions to M. Shawn Copeland’s Enfleshing Freedom—to engaging with important topics—from Christian contemplative practices to concepts like the “Trinity.” Hence, the program contributes to the scholarly life of the Boston College community, provides literacy in culturally significant texts, authors, and ideas, and encourages appreciation for the merit of study.

These courses can be taken Pass/Fail or letter grade, while enrolled in the theology core or after its completion.

Come and see what is brought to light in studying the best moments from the theological world!
