The Kairos Experience
What's it like?
Kairos meanis “God’s Time” in Greek and is a student-facilitated weekend retreat that allows for intentional reflection on relationships with God, self, and others away from the chaos of campus.
Kairos is offered 12 times a year. Here's what you can expect:
- Enjoy a weekend away to relax, reflect, and refocus
- Hear from other students about relationships, faith, and reflections on life
- Listen, share, and build community with students you might not otherwise meet
- Experience special Kairos surprises!
Who attends?
Kairos is open to students of all faith backgrounds and experiences. While the retreat is rooted in the Ignatian, Catholic tradition, any student who is willing to engage in spiritual reflection can get something out of the weekend!
All undergraduate students are welcome to join the waiting list. Students are selected at random from the list and invited to attend the retreat. You'll be notified by email if your name has been drawn from the lottery.
Our October retreats are exclusively for seniors. November and December are open to seniors, juniors, and sophomores. All class years are eligible to attend in the spring.

Participants in Kairos will:
- Identify God’s love as unconditional and take new, practical steps in exploring their faith and spirituality. This involves a deepened awareness and acceptance of God’s love, fostering a more personal and profound spiritual journey. Retreatants are encouraged to seek out and engage in spiritual practices that resonate with this newfound understanding.
- Articulate their experience of unconditional love, or agape, and recognize the presence of unconditional love in their relationships and their spirituality. This includes understanding the depth and breadth of agape love, as experienced through the retreat activities and reflections, and applying this understanding to their lives.
- Commit to intentionally act more lovingly in their families, friendships, and communities in concrete, tangible ways. This commitment is demonstrated through specific actions that reflect the principles of agape love learned during the retreat, promoting a culture of love, respect, and support within their various communities.
If you have previously attended Kairos, please feel free to join our mailing list by sending a note.
