Suturing Skills Workshop: Clinical Essentials and Beyond
Advance your clinical practice with refreshed and new suturing skills through didactic and hands-on practice to gain experience and proficiency.Ìý
Intended Learning Outcomes
Participants will learn to:
- Describe the phases and factors affecting wound healing
- Identify types of sutures and instrumentation used in suturing
- Perform simple interrupted, running and deep layer sutures, and knot tying techniques with instrumentsÌý
- Practice advanced suturing techniques and recommend post-procedure pharmacological management
All students will receive the Medarchitech Suture Practice Kit, which contains all the essentials to learn and practicing suturing techniques, knot-tying, instrument handling and skin incision. Students may take this kit home for further practice.Content most appropriate for: RNs, APRNs, EMTs, MDs, PAs and Clinicians-in-Training.

Instructor
Meredith (Merry) Preziosi, FNP-51²è¹Ý is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with more than 20 years of experience in intensive care, interventional radiology, and aesthetic medicine. She has been a procedural nurse practitioner since 2011 and currently works in Interventional Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital.Ìý Ms. Preziosi is a planning committee member for the Society of Interventional Radiology Advanced Practice Provider Annual Conference, a frequent lecturer and enjoysmentoring and precepting new NPs and PAs in her specialty.
In addition to her Interventional Radiology role, Ms. Preziosi is the owner of Merry Aesthetics, a concierge aesthetics service.Ìý ÌýMs. Preziosi received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College and a Master’s in Nursing from Georgetown University.ÌýÌý
